Why We Do What We Do

On January 4th, 2018, I lost my husband, Jermaine Broussard, at the young age of 46. Jermaine was my best friend, my partner in life, and someone who brought joy and light to everyone he met. We had been married for almost 11 years, sharing countless adventures and dreams, the most recent of which was planning a family vacation. But instead of planning that trip, I found myself planning his funeral—a task I was completely unprepared for.

Jermaine was a dedicated oil-field worker, loved by his colleagues at Calfrac Well Services, and a man who cherished the outdoors, spending his free time fishing and hunting with our family. His sudden passing left me not only heartbroken but overwhelmed by the burden of arranging his final farewell without any plans or preparations in place. I felt the weight of every decision, every detail, at a time when all I wanted was to grieve.

Yet, during this incredibly challenging time, something beautiful emerged. Our family, friends, and Jermaine's colleagues at Calfrac

came together as a community, supporting us in ways I could never have imagined. They surrounded us with love, care, and practical help, lifting much of the weight I carried. Their support was a lifeline, showing me the power of community in the face of tragedy.

This experience taught me how important it is to be prepared—to ensure that when the unthinkable happens, our loved ones can focus on mourning, not managing. It also showed me the profound impact that a supportive community can have during the most difficult times. That's why I am so passionate about this business. I want to help others avoid the stress and uncertainty I faced, while also encouraging them to lean on their own communities for support.

Our mission is to ensure that your wishes, and the wishes of those you love, are honored with dignity and respect. We are here to guide you, to alleviate the burden, and to help you plan ahead so that when the time comes, you can focus on what truly matters: honoring the life and memory of those who mean the most to you, with the support of those who care about you.
